I am a father of 5 children. My wife homeschools our youngest so my fulltime job is the only income we have. We go week to week with my paycheck so things can get tight at times. This is one of those times so I am here to ask for help. If there is anyone out there willing to help me please contact me.

Hello,

I commend your family for choosing to homeschool your children. I am from Indiana so I do not know much about New York. It would seem that your wife would be able to apply for tanf as a supplement to your income. At least food stamps. If you work for your self that would be even better. If you are legally married you will probably have to provide them with pay stubs. That will determine if you make too much money or just enough, etc. to receive benefits. There are programs available to you that they can provide or at least point you in the right direction. Further more, please don't look at it as a hand-out, your tax dollars allows this program to run so when families need assistance they can get it. If you feel that food stamps can help your family out then your wife should see how this could help.
